Mainship

34′ Mainship

A classic design for the Northwest, the 34′ Mainship is “one of the most popular small sedans ever built”, according to the editors of the Powerboat Guide.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of this boat is that her single Perkins 6.35 turbo diesel will cruise economically at 7 knots on just 2 gallons per hour, and she’ll run 10 knots when desired.

“Semper Fi” has a wide open salon of more than 100 sq. ft., both a full length flybridge and lower helm, large forward vee berth, comfortable galley and head with a separate shower stall.  She’s just a terrific boat for a cruising couple looking to explore our great Northwest waters.

The diesel engine and Warner gearbox have been well maintained by former owner since 2003, with all service records aboard. Last bottom paint in 2016.

We ran her down from Bellingham to Seattle in just under nine hours.  We’ve spent the past few weeks cleaning and finishing many small and not-so-small tasks aboard, from installing water tank, filters and pumps, refinishing the aft deck teak trim and ladders, to cleaning up engine compartment and wiring.  Now she’s ready to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather.

Mechanical Inspection

We had a diesel professional (DE Diesel, Seattle) inspect the Perkins main engine and take an oil sample analysis.  The injectors were sent out to be rebuilt and the Perkins engine is running very strong.  Summary of reported findings from mechanic’s inspection; “Engine ran well with no apparent problems.  Oil sample came back normal, with ‘no action required’ reported from SOS Service Labs in Seattle’ “.  The boat was run from Bellingham to Seattle and performed as expected.  By all indications the machinery is in good condition and has been serviced regularly by professionals, with shop records since 2003 on file aboard the boat.

We are quite selective about the vessels we accept into our program and pursue a very rigorous process before they are listed for sale.  This begins with our preliminary introduction when we meet with the donor to discuss the condition and upkeep of their boat.  Once accepted, each new arrival undergoes a thorough examination, similar to what a marine surveyor will do.  This allows us to prioritize our attention to deferred maintenance and any repairs that may be needed.

Over the years we’ve performed just about every kind of marine repair; from simple electrical and plumbing issues to all types of appearance enhancements to even rebuilding engines.  If something is not working right we fix it, simple as that.  We prove that her electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems are correct, safe and functioning properly. By doing all this, we know these boats quite well – top to bottom – and present them fairly and honestly to buyers.  We encourage you to have our boats professionally surveyed as a part of your purchase process; by the time we’ve finished and the boat is advertised here, we are confident you’ll receive a strong report from your surveyor.

Thank you for considering PMF boats in your search !
